How does that saying go?? "no good turn goes un-punished!!".
So I took the 2 sets of rims down to the nearest CT store to buy tires and have them swap the tires off our rims onto the other set and fit the new tires to our rims. Now, I have heard that CT repair shops are terrible, but I have a friend who works in another store, but they have no Blizzaks in stock and that store is good when he is there.
So I get it organized, leave the rims (no car to damage or screw up on). How can it go wrong.....................
I get a phone call on Friday night to clarify what was being done. I re-explained and made sure the person was clear. Move the Gislaved tires to the other rims and fit the Blizzaks to the rims the Gislaveds came off. Simple. Clearly not.
No call the next day to say tires are ready for collection. Try calling, and calling, get no answer. Try to leave a message but the voicemail is full. Still no call that day. Try calling again yesterday and still can't get an answer. So go down to the store in a mood. Then get to deal with a miserable so-and-so behind the desk who couldn't be any less helpful if he tried. Reluctantly as he can't find the paperwork goes off to look for the rims and tires. 10 minutes later he comes back and say the tires have not been done! They would try to get them done later yesterday. 2 hours later a call. Tires ready I ask? No. We have a problem. We only have 3 Blizzaks. We can order another for tomorrow. I then ask, what is the DOT date on the tires?? 5 minutes later - 2021.................! ARRGH! Find me something else. We find a suitable option and they are slightly cheaper. So, get a call this morning to go and pick up the rims. Go to pick them up and as I am loading them (having loaded our son's first in their storage covers), I am lifting the first of the other rims in and think to myself. Those old Gislaved tires still look really goo, almost new................! Ah, that would be because they were the new tires!!
I ask the guy why the wrong tires are on the rims. He says he was told to refit the Gislaved's to out rims and the new tires on the others..........??? Why would yo put the tires you had taken off back on the same rims??
Tires left, grumpy customer leaves well pissed. Have now just been down and collected them finally done and done right!! What an absolute shambles of a business. Wow!!
