Another quick update.

My indie shop took another pass at the harness and signals while I was out of town. Everything checks out. When I returned home from my travels yesterday, I picked up an ETM from the local pick-n-pull which is compatible with my vehicle. It's a white-label one and has worked flawlessly for 20+ miles. The XeMODex warranty replacement ETM did not last nearly this long before failing.

I plan to put more miles on the car around town to be sure nothing happens. And if everything continues to be smooth, I'll ask XeMODex for another warranty replacement as there's nothing we can find wrong with the vehicle.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm still running the salvaged ETM. We've put about 2000mi on it, and no noticeable issues. That said, I could use a spare ETM. I'll send you a PM.

Also, XeMODex refused my second warranty claim. They assert that there are or were issues with the car that caused their ETMs to fail, even knowing the salvaged unit is working fine. I asked multiple times for further consideration and offered to split the cost of a new refurbished unit. They have not responded to any of my requests.
