coolant line on the back of the head, bolt size?

Post by beewstew »

Putting the engine back together on a 2004 xc70, 2.5t engine.

Can't remember/can't find the 2 bolts for the metal coolant pipe that attaches to the back of the head, right next to the water pump and timing belt.

2 bolts, both attach to the head, the hold a metal pipe to the head via gasket #1236119 https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... or-1236119

Should I just use one of the old waterpump bolts? Those M7x25mm bolts seem to go everywhere on the head...

Somewhat related, is there an exploded parts diagram for volvos on the web? I've been using the manual at https://charm.li/Volvo/2004/XC70%20L5-2 ... 20B5254T2/ for this repair, but I miss the exploded diagrams that you can get for eg John Deere tractors like this https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/

I just removed one of them (upper) to be sure: yes the thread is M7-1.0, length is 25 mm.

That’s Erik’s favourite bolt. At the pearly gates , his nightmare is he will be sent to the garage to spend eternity installing lower water pipe bolt part 985151 with a spanner

Like a microfiche?

I recall going into the old Seattle dealer parts counter and they had physical plastic sheets in a thing similar to an overhead projector, and he could look at these same parts diagrams on a screen.

Sounds like proper etymology to me
