I had some sort of awful illness in the last 4 days. Terrible sore throat, night sweats, very mentally slow, runny nose, cough. I looked at myself in the mirror one day and thought I'd been dug from the grave. Being 53 doesn't help.

Of course my 1-year-old thermometer's battery was dead (how?). Isn't it Job #1 for the software to shut it down after no activity for 60 seconds or around there? I used it a year ago and not since. :roll: And of course it uses a battery I don't have any spares of: 1635(?) disc/coin shaped.

Frustrated and sick, I couldn't help but sit there and cast damnable curses on our drive to replace proven tech (mercury) with battery-dependent/no alternative solutions.

When sick:
Get medical attention. I used to say about $100 (for office visit and medicines) and a few days would generally cure what ever I got. Medicare has actually made this cheaper.
Drink lots of water.
Sleep lots.

I hope you are feeling better now.

There are a lot of cases like yours - something's going around.
It lasts more than a week if you have what my friends have.

This too shall pass!
1982 240DL: Drove it 32 years and 1.5 million miles (sold, even still had mint leather!)
2001 v70 2.4T: The most expensive $1500 car I ever bought ("Volvo Turbo" - what an oxymoron!) (sold)
2004 v70: Far less fatally-flawed v70 - It served well (sold)
2010 v50: Smaller, slightly sportier wagon. Its got a spoiler, so I upgraded with sway bars!

Got it myself, stopped at urgent care yesterday and lungs sound ok so need to stick with over the counter meds and rest.

Except for that sick tree in my back yard that died this year so I decided cut it down (free city branch pickup is this week)—that was a bad idea and paying for it today…

I did a Covid test last week and was negative, so just a bad flu. Rested all day and still feel terrible.

There is Covid doing the rounds up here, despite what our nutjob premier says (Covid does not exist so why vaccinate??). We have had over 500 people hospitalized this month and multiple deaths in Alberta with the new strain. It out kills flu and respiratory bugs doing the rounds.

This year's flu is a potential stinker, so due to being ancient, I have been out and had the updated Covid and flu vaccines.

Then to add to this, there is now a human form of avian flu doing the rounds. Not common here (yet) but more so in the US unfortunately.

It's rough out there, hope it by-passes all of you!
