02 s40 long crank for start, now no start.
Hey all, new member but been lurking for a while. Been searching the forums for my problem and although there's many good ideas, none have helped. Past couple months my s40 takes 5 or 6 seconds cranking to start sometimes, other times starts right away. But now it will crank, no start unless I give it gas and hold the pedal above 1k rpms to keep the engine going. Cel p0128 for coolant temperature below thermostat regulating temperature, this has been there for 3 years and hasn't affected drivability. P0420, P0455 and P0107. I've swapped out both map sensors, the FPR and cleaned the Iacv. Fuel pump primes when you first turn the key. Any ideas? Appreciate any input.

Hey, haven’t been on this site for a while. Have you checked your up and down stream O2 sensors? Sometimes those will make your fuel trim a bit off. I’m having almost the same problem as you but just an acute long start otherwise idles fine. Those codes would tell me that you have a vacuum leak someplace. May need to clean out your catalytic converter. You can try the lacquer in the gas method or take it out and clean it over night. I’m going to try the lacquer thinner in the gas method with a 150 mile drive. I’m just curious if it will work. If not I’m replacing my cat. I have an 01 S40 and this is my second engine, it’s running good otherwise. Just got on this to see about the radio code. If you know the code can you give it to me. Thanks a bunch
