Hello;
I first installed the application for the VGLA module (adding remote control), but I could not benefit from most of its features. First, I received information that the version of my ELM 327 device was not supported. Then I bought a new ELM 327 V1.5 device and tried it. This time, I received different errors. For example, the dashboard test, fuel I could not get any results from pump test or VGLA PIN decoding. Actually, I got live data and error codes, but I couldn't understand exactly where I see the result. For example, I am testing the SRS system, but I cannot see where the error codes are.
On the VGLA PIN screen, for example, when performing operations from the bottom, the ABS lamp flashes, then it clears up, but it gives a warning even though the ignition is in position 2.
I am sharing with you the screenshots I took as an example. If anyone has information on the subject or has a document about the program, I would be very pleased.

OBDII Standard in the Scan uses basic Standard commands and no what Volvo modules directly requires which why they get to be readen with all ELM devices.

I dont trust ELM identifier App as it doesnt show example ATSI working (in use) which is critical.
Can you crack open ELM device and take picture whats inside?
By the screenshot protocol is not initialized which why you get BUS INIT... ERROR after every command.


Take screenshot or send log to email via Settings send log when used Scan of the modules COMBI, ABS, ECM and so.
Can say more than Advanced commands output as i did make them jump over things to be faster and so with less testing of ELM device like Live Data window wont really show anything in case of ELM device.

Edit: forgot answer this.
K/KKL cable is totally different from ELM interface device and not supported at moment.
I might in future add Live Data and reading of Fenix 5.2 with it as with ELM its not possible.

I just want say quickly here one mistake i made recently which can confuse.

The P3 Platform options are not doing yet anything Oct 26, 2024 update i published when i renamed listings and i was in middle adding P1 ECUs options when i got notification of one major bug which took my attention to fix for the update and i thought i disabled but i didn't check All options which doesn't filter listing. And some P1 ECUs which are not in P1 Platform listing yet too.

They will come some time later and do nothing at moment still. Aiming finally again this week end to publish latest chances and fixes like super old LiveData ECU selection screen and add ABS/BCM (99+ year P80 and P2) Live Data etc.

I am back from all work life situations changes what happened in private life side which took last months mostly my time and learning new things.. but back with new toy to share. Be noted this is more for like professional use who can do errors and mistakes to fix them directly. This is at most helping hand for the process to go through when have devices to use to unrevealing some secrets of these chips for larger public.. after learning them myself through trial and errors.

No.. not for 850 models sorry yet. Tested on V70 from 1999 and C70 from 2005 IMMO3 boxes which both acted little differently.

I would like to add another remote, since there was only 1 when I bought the car.

Do you know if the US remotes that are on eBay also works for the eu cars?

I can’t find any used remotes under 9184784.
EBay has used remotes but part nr is 9166199.

For remote functionality as i point in Help section of Remote programming window in the App:
This is up to frequency of the remote which differs per remotes.

Technically you could replace soldering the component behind of it to make it as other one in theory level.

Its too why i on video show to use remote tester due this.

Thanks for the explanation. Apologies for not checking out the options in the app first. Didn’t saw the help section after the “add remote” function.

By a stroke of luck I found a used remote at my local junkyard and got it to reprogram it with the app!

Took only 25 minutes for the code to show up.

I have one more question if you don’t mind. With the alarm options, are the options only writeable if the car supports it?

For example, I tried to turn on auto locking feature when driving >5km/u. But the vgla module doesn’t accept the writing to it.

Happy to hear for the local find! And success of programming.. 433MHz in remote so still theory mostly correct

Technically yes module might block certain values even after with options pin code login to be written example COMBI aka Instrument cluster.. in Market Code wont on 850 take values which then are valid on 70 series.

Service > Advanced > VGLA (Alarm) > Retrieve PIN > Select "REMOTE PIN" and let it run with pressing "Start".
