Mythical 850 rear heated seats

Post by coop »

Finally got the heated rears pulled. Figured I’d put up a quick thread with some pics and info that I put together during the process

I may have screwed up cutting out the 12v wiring but I read multiple times that a majority of the cars are at least pre wired. If not the wiring diagram is attached and will need to be wired through the dash and will be a pain in the ass but likewise would have been a pita to follow and and pull out the whole loom so that’s on who ever wants to install them next

I did not know those were rare, I got those in my 855. It is not a high spec car, front power windows only, no cruise control.

This has been a long running joke here on MVS. I'm not sure any P80's were ever optioned with these or even if it was an option in North American market cars. If there were any they could possibly be customer cars bought straight from the factory.

It would have been a nice option to have had, but never seen one till now.

That adds to my theory that these cars are at least prewired for the 12v lines for the seats. So hopefully reinstallation is as “simple” as adding a relay and the cable for the switches.

Wow. The only part I have not found in the US is the harness (9148513-6). Dave Barton (of Dancing Moose fame) can reproduce the cable with some photos of your harness. [[email protected]]

Hi there. Very nice read. So the 9148513 harness runs from the yellow plug under the ash tray to the switches?
Also how many connectors are at the rear seat? I've found 2 on mine, I've also got the 2 rear heated seats switches but no realy, harness or pads.

Any idea where I could get my hands on the remaining items? It's for my 1995 850 T-5R
