CE light on

Post by lcc014 »

Yesterday, CE light turned on while driving on highway. Car was driving fine with the light ON. I checked the DTC code this morning, A2, 232. It meant : Long term fuel trim, idling. For the time being, I erased the code and turned off the CE light. I will drive the car tomorrow and see whether the CE light will come back or not.

So is this code related to O2 sensor or else ? My wagon is NA.

Thanks,

Ching-Ho Cheng

Check the hose elbow on the end of the intake manifold at the power steering pump end has not split/ broken off.

Smoke test or check with brake cleaner to see if any vacuum hose leaks.

Lastly O2 sensors.

Thank you for the information. Does the NA 850 has that elbow hose too ? I thought that only turbo 850 has the elbow hose of the intake manifold.

I will take a look tomorrow.

Good question now you mention it! I recall replacing one on one of my older P80's. Now can't recall if it was the 93 850 GLT or the 98 V70 XC.

I'll try to check too, although a quick look under the hood will be quicker.

Probably a vacuum leak somewhere. Can you read fuel trims with your current tools/ instrument set?

I checked the vacuum elbow this morning and found nothing in that area. So far, CE light is still off after 1 day of driving.
Since my wagon is 1995 model so it only provides the OBD-I interface in front of the CPU box. How to read the fuel trims ?

No live data readings with OBDI.
