Hwy guys. New to the Volvo world, and I appreciate any insight you all have to offer! Bought a car from an auction, that has a complete 2006 XC90 v8 swapped in to it. Bad part is that it did not come with a key. I bought an ignition switch with matching key "used" off of ebay. I can now turn the car on, but no start. The yellow warning triangle illuminates when in the crank position. I'm guess that the PCM is not recognizing the signal? I tried swapping over the original transponder from the old ignition switch with the same results, probably because the key isn't programmed to the vehicle. Any way to program this without having to visit the dealer? Locksmiths around.me said they are unable to help. I really want to rip this thing around but I'm stuck.
Thank You!!
No start, key programming??

Key and remote get programed to the vehicle by Volvo via purchased software package(s). Might be somebody capable of doing a CEM crack and a reprogram for key and remote (is remote UEM to CEM?) around this site (my guess is they'll contact you and arrange for a car reader device with a connection to the internet), otherwise you need a dealer to do what you're wanting to do.
Engine swap- was a direct V8 to V8 with original ECM and CEM and TCM and REM still on the vehicle?

Thsnk you for the reply! I actually got in contact with a local locksmith who has the equipment to program the key for me. Said I could either bring him the CEM and key, or he could come to me and do it. The car is a 1987 Ford Escort that has had the entire powertrain from the XC90 swapped in. All modules, suspension, etc. Looks to me like the csr was fully operational before it was towed. We shall find out!
