I understand the TB in the kit is made by Gates.
I have some Honda V6 engines I take of and I really like the Aisin timing belt kits, the brands of the parts in the kit are selected by Aisin and from different companies but all are very high-quality parts. I haven't used the Aisin kits for my Volvo but if they included a Gates timing belt I wouldn't be concerned about the quality, Gates parts are all of good quality from my experience.
I have read about counterfeit parts from Amazon and Ebay though, but I don't really know how much of a problem this is or if these types of parts somehow make it into the Aisin kits.

The reason I asked: saw a 2006 S60 recently with sticker in engine saying TB done at 90K, car is now at 95K and runs fine.

The Gates TB...iirc, in the past, some ppl say the belt "walks in and out" a bit, just an eyesore if you look at it while engine is running. Other, no issue.

Below is the Gates TB on a 1998 S70, similar engine as P2, although the 1998 S70 has fixed cam sprocket (no VVT).

Anyway, the video starts at ~ time 2:40. The TB walks in and out a tiny bit. I think this is just a "cosmetic issue", nothing big. Once you reinstall the TB cover, the problem is solved lol....

I ended up selling the vehicle, so I did not purchase the kit.
