It's been a busy few years and I hope everyone's been well. Here's a little back history (and then a question for 'ya all
The transmission for my V70 was eventually replaced with a used tranny with 77,000 miles. Since my mechanic is my friend and I only paid for parts, I didn't get it back for 19 months. I bought the 2003 V40 in the interim.
The last trip in the V70T5 was from Portland, OR to L.A. Calif in 2023 to clean out my deceased brother's home - we had no idea he was a hoarder and had 29 non-working vehicles on his property. The day I returned home, I parked the V70 on the street (which I rarely do). Less than an hour later someone swerved to miss hitting a dog and totaled it. It had 128,000 miles. Insurance offered $3,500 - I fought and got almost triple! The rest of 2023 and 2024 was devoted to deceased brother's stuff so haven't had time to look for replacement. The 2003 V40? Well, its odometer stopped at 287,000 miles. I've probably put 30,000 miles on it since. Except for regular oil and transmission services, I've only replaced the head liner, a few hoses and gave it new tires. It's proven to be a real gem. ♥
I'm finally ready for a "new" car and may have found one. My mechanic is on vacation, however, so I kindly ask for thoughts for the one in the link (below). The body and interior are in great shape. One owner - Carfax showed consistent oil changes approx every 3,500 miles. Drives wonderfully but has some mileage. I doubt whether the coils, etc have been replaced. Give me the nitty-gritty: the good and the bad and anything in between, please. Or make suggestions what I should look for. Thanks!
