Most likely the door lock actuator has failed. There are threads on the subject. Sometimes you get lucky and it has just become detached but the fact it is not locking is usually a plastic part internally has broken. See if you can find a used one as new are stupid expensive these days.

I used to have a problem where my kids when younger used to grab the handles before they had had a chance to open properly which snapped them internally.

These can be a bit of a challenge to remove and fit without swearing but doable as long as you can get the retaining bolts on the back edge of the door loose.

Over time, the actual motor in the actuator (think of a small motor from a toy, or very similar) has a thermal fuse inside to prevent it from running all the time and starting your wiring on fire in the door harness in a failure event.

What actually happens is due to heat and cold, that thermal fuse weakens and when the motor draws amperage to move the actuator, it won't budge because the thermal cutout is interfering.

Some people say you can remove the thermal cutout; I'd say that's a bit foolish, but it's your car. On my V70 I removed the driver's door and passenger door lock actuators (great time to re-glue your door cards), and replaced the motor. No more locking issues!
