Thanks for that information. Soldering would certainly be the easiest and cheap. Volvo dealer claims soldering could change the resistance in the wiring and possibly compromise the operation of the air bags.

Dealer concern is liability. They're a big fat target for the lawyers.

O2 sensor wiring also says don't solder or even apply dialectric grease at the connector, so says vida.
I soldered them.
