Headlight Washer Cover
Headlight Washer Cover
Hi, I lost my headlight washer cover on my 2006 xc90. I have a replacement, but can't seem to figure out how to install it? Does anyone know how to keep the washer arm extended so I can install the new cover? Thanks

It's part of the procedure for removal of the washer assembly but shows how the cover snaps on.
You can find a copy of VIDA on the internet (where this screenshot comes from) that will install on most PCs, it's an invaluable reference source.
Good luck with your repair.

Been searching for information regarding removal of headlamp washer cover removal for a 2008 S60. Looking at the replacement part drawings it doesn’t quite look like it snaps in same way as on an xc90.
Hoping someone can clarify.
Thx

Just one more question for anyone that knows… to get to the sprayer out, do you have to “catch” it when in operation, or just pull them forward when car is off?
The headlight sprayers don’t work on this vehicle…rather not break anything else in the process.

Get something plastic under the cover if it's still on and lift it off, it'll pull out fully by hand (side tangs on the cover are decently strong) then ge tthe pliers on the nozzle stem. If you're referring to the UK forum posts, no idea what those knuckleheads were thinking, you have like 3 seconds to garb the nozzle while it's spewing high pressure water all over the place. If the cover is not in place, grab the nozzle and pull straight out.
Headlight washers not working is suggestive of your high pressure pump not functioning (washer reservoir has two pumps, one for windshield F/R and one for headlights). Can check fuse 3 (35A) in the engine compartment to see if it's installed as a start. Fuse locations here (owners manual) - https://volvo.custhelp.com/app/manuals/ ... /model/S60

Thank you for the guidance.
I purchased this vehicle for my daughter and have been working through a few issues.
Yeah, I suspected that the high pressure pump has is bad. (Or blown fuse)Also have a continuous “low washer fluid” message and it just occurred to me that maybe it could be related to the pump. Issue (??) wiring seems to be integrated around the tank.
My main reason for removing the sprayer covers is to remove the bumper cover to replace the headlight assemblies (heavily clouded & moisture behind lenses.)
While apart, I’ll try to get it all resolved.
