Help with ECM p001200 2012,3.2

Post by VolvosRockIV »

Hello I have. 2012 3.2 @166k miles. I bought the car last October as a basket case/project.

So far I have done the following to fix issues or get caught up on maintenance:

Every fluid has been flushed and or replaced
Struts
Complete exhaust from block to tailpipe including Volvo manifolds. Walker components from manifolds back.
Plugs and coils
PCV
Battery
Every coolant hose plus Tstat
SERP belt and everything it touches
Misc body/interior related stuff
Air filters
Fuel filter
All engine mounts

I e also replaced 4 of the 5 cam sensors/solenoids, all but the exhaust side black plastic one, next to the PCV box.

I am getting the p001200 code regularly, occasionally I am getting the p001622 and p001692 related to the crank shaft and the p171900 for engine torque signal.

It starts (a little hard), runs and drives well. Everything works as it should

This p001200 code is all that’s keeping me from a legal vehicle due to inspection.

Any help/insight is appreciated, I’ve searched here, the web and swedespeed until cross eyed……

So new twist….

Today I got the 001200 code and a p001100 code, this is a first! Cam over retarded (12) and over advanced (11)

I am thinking that it may be beginning to de sludge, last 780 miles has been on Valvoline restore and protect.

I cleared the codes and swapped the two known now lift solenoids to see if it makes a difference. (The short silver solenoids on the cam cover)
