ETS and CE light with Jerky Throtle but Idle fine 2000 S70 non turbo

Just boughtit today and after 10 miles the ETS & CE lights came on after I tried to accelarate to Highway speeds but the transmitions feelt really jerky like it needed to down shift a gear and is having trouble finding the right gear. It does this every time I try to accelerate a bit faster. Just jerks and feels bumpy. But when I accelerate slowly everything works. The car idles fine and starts fine.
Is this the ETM fault or could it be something else?
