In NY , parking facing the wrong way is a summons, pretty much state wide. It’s a modest ticket, like $59, with $300 of surcharges

Here, on the other hand, they pretty much just give them out when you turn 16. Hence the profound confusion when they encounter a
roundabout. Still, parking that way is just another example of the breakdown of our societies !
It's interesting you mention this. I recently saw a video from 1981 where a Swedish Car TV (trafikmagasinet) show went to the US and discussed the traffic situation in the US. They said basically that swedes could learn a lot from the americans and how they drive. Everyone here drives so relaxedly and maturely they said, nobody cuts anyone off, people follow the speed limits which are only 55mph. The aggressive swede driver should learn from the more mature american driver. Is there any hope for swedish drivers?

You can actually see the video here, there are english auto translated subs which sorta give an idea what is said.

It’s so regional in the US. It took me a year to adjust to the high level of aggression of Long Island driving , some of the worst I have encountered

Company next door always seem to have an older Volvo parked outside, last year it was a red 245 in perfect condition. This year I've seen two other cars parked outside. Last night this one, difficult to get a good shot:

I can't tell what model it is. 850, S70 maybe.

e: I got a closer look from the front today, looked to me like a 940 from the lights. Weird...

I had to go to the supermarket for some lunch today and there was a red Volvo 740 with swedish license plates and old style S sticker on it (cars had to have these before EU license plates), looked real neat. I parked my blue 850 behind it, I was curious to see what kind of owner had a car like this. Some burly dude I figured, or maybe a younger kid.

Well as it happened I bought my lunch and the cars real owner was also done and going to the car and I passed them heading to my car. Turns out it was an old lady who must've been nearer 90 than 80. She was walking so slow and then dropped a receipt on the ground and it just looked so painful I had to get out and help her get to her Volvo. She said she brings out the "veteran car" when going to Finland, visiting her nephew who lived here.

That car you pass looks like an early 850 to me based on the wheels and the shape of the front of the hood. Nice color!
