Bosch ignition coil date code 04 XC70

Post by P2metoo »

Hey all! I replaced 2 coil packs for intermittent misfire codes. My volvo spark plugs only have 10K miles but ignition coil age is unkown. Anyone know what the date code is and how to decipher? The old coils have red boots too, but does it make them dance any better? :P

Bought replacement Bosch coils from FCP Euro. I don't recall them showing Bosch on the top before installing but noted the new part matched the old. Bosch is on the rubber boot. New ones were made in Slovenia.

Date should be on the boot. It looks like a clock with a ring and arrow; arrow pointing to month and year is between the arrow.

06W11 on the top = 2006 week 11
06W22 also on the top = 2006 week 22.
The boots may have been replaced or the coils were not FIFO at the Bosch plant.
