'11 V50 - Hands-Free Microphone Replacement

Post by PooYork »

Hello out there...

I was replacing my sunroof drains the other day and in an effort to pull out the grommet at the frame on the front driver's side, I accidentally tore my microphone for the hands-free calling. BUMMER. I brought my car into the shop this week for something else and they told me there was a code thrown about this.

Anyway, skip to today, where I sloppily used a wire stripper and a some electrical tape to reconnect the severed cable using some 18awg speaker wire. The connection I made was solid, but there's no audio from the mic whatsoever when on calls. It's possible I botched the cable as there was some sheilding, but I'm not sure it would have made a difference. I'm not a audio expert.

I'm looking for instructions or wiring diagrams. If anyone has replaced this microphone before or has a copy of Vida could you please be so kind as to help me out here/share some documents?

Additionally, I wonder if it will work if I clear the code. What do you all think?
