Linkage near heater core

Post by famfeld »

Everything was going fine replacing my heater core until I broke the linkage that is up behind the two pipes coming into the heater core. I believe this linkage is associated with the vents or the heating system. Any ideas on how to replace or repair them?
Thanks in advance,
Feld

Been there done that with my 2005 XC90!

I forgot to set the Temp to HOT before removing the heater core!

Volvo PN 9171544 is about $25 at dealer on ebay (Volvo dealers sell on ebay too).

Anyway, I outlined the whole thing in this thread. The fix is EASY:

Update on photo from the web...

Sometimes, it is difficult to understand this crowded space and contortionist position necessary to perform
repair, I downloaded a random photo fron eBay and labeled it so you can see the layout...

Contortion is not an exaggeration. I replaced one for a customer, I felt like vomiting at least 4 times for the 2 hours it took me to install it.
