Bump to this thread to remind me to ditch the crappy hose clamps I used in this job nextvcoolant flush time.

We age and learn. Those crappy ones will dig into the rubber of course.

The horrible oil leak, of which evidence is apparent in this thread, was cured by replacing the Turbo oil line oRing in the oil pan - a cheap part that left me with dry engine for the first time in decades

So I have been trying to get both oil cooler hoses for the '99 V70, and I have found two options.
First, buy the replacement ones made by URO. Enough said.
Second, pay to have the long hose sent here from Sweden. Time frame of approximately a month. Short hose is NLA from Volvo.

I didn't like either option, so I came up with this solution. It has a three things going for it:
First,the parts are readily available.
Second, they are cheap.
Third, I think that the copper will act as a heat sink which can't hurt.
And there's no waiting. Maybe an hour start to finish.

Ok, so I ended up shortening the shorter copper by about 1". I should have tried dry fitting it before soldering.
But it all worked. Bought new smooth banded clamps for the silicone hose. Fingers crossed, since these hoses won't be getting any easier to find.

^ If you're going to do that, then I'll put together a parts list w/ measurements.

As you can see, you only need 4) 45* elbows and 2) 90* elbows. It's a bit hard to say exactly what lengths of pipe you need to cut because you do have a little latitude with how deep the pipe is set in the fitting. Ideally it's all the way. But with these pics you should get close enough to fine tune before soldering. The longer pipe with the 180* bend is easy. The short one takes some twists.

My usually unreliable memory banks were clashing a bit on this thread, as I thought a recent cooler I messed with was a bit different than Sveedys

Lo and behold, picture from Vida. It looks like one version twist the left side coolant pipe up and forward, doing some of the copper work for you.

Check your cooler before embarking on this mission, you may need fewer Cu pieces than this
