ECC scan result with 850OBDII App on V70 1998

Post by MotorTheresa »

Hi group,

After cleaning my cabin air sensor I was able to delete the ECC related DTCs.
Doing the ECC Scan with 850OBDII after I got this log here:

What's the matter with these two?

How do they translate hardware wise?
Thanks in advance

Those 2 may be linked. Your blower motor may have failing bearings or dry bearings which draws more current than it should.

I need to dig into how to access the blower motor and check the bearings out.

Yes Robert's video will work well for this. Hardest part is -98 P80's had a knee protection bar above your knees behind the under cover for the dashboard and for LHD cars is is the passenger side. You will have to remove the glove box liner (be careful as at this age the T25 Torx screw holes become brittle and some may have already cracked and fallen out.

Removing that allows access to the 2 screws that hold the lower panel in place.

There are normally only 3 x 13mm headed nuts hidden in holes for the knee brace/protection. 2 on the RHS, and only one on the LH side.

It can take a bit of effort to remove the brace. Once in there it is fairly straight forward.

That fan switch fault could also be triggering the overcurrent faultas those functions are related, or vice-versa.
