When your CV axle is made from 100% pure unobtainium, this is the last thing you want to see. Yes, this is the dreaded front right axle from an '04 V70R M66 AWD.

The only axle I could find (period) that might work is the Trakmotive VO-8041, despite unclear fitment information. I'm going to give that a try, unless someone chimes in and says I definitely should not.

The good news is that the transmission and angle gear are still in great shape (had to drop 'em to check). And the "while we're at it" list included new front subframe bushings, prop shaft front CV (torn boot), angle gear collar and seal kit, engine & transmission torque mounts all around, lower ball joints, and fluid replacements.

Appreciate everyone's crossed fingers.

Is that axle a tube vs solid on the R font weight reduction? Iโ€™ve never seen an axle snap like that.

Is that awd m66 ftom Canada or is it a conversion?

We didnโ€™t get awd m66 in the States TTBOMK

Wow, I've never heard that M66 AWD were not available in the US. Vehicle history shows its entire life in MA, PA, and OH. If it's a conversion I wouldn't know.

Yeah, the shaft is (was) a tube between the angle gear and the inner CV joint.

There are/were lots of P2 R cars with M66 in the US. Both S60 and V70.

Just wanted to confirm that the VO-8041 is a perfect fit for a passenger side M66 AWD axle, I just put one in last weekend. The inner joint is a different style but the length and position of the support bearing are the same as the old stock one.

Can't find the exact picture, but Chinese axles love to do this in high power applications:

Does the S60R have the same axle as the V70R? If they do then you get both with manual trans (spaceball).

I'll keep an eye out for one. There are a couple of people selling parts from broken P2 R's in the BC area of Canada on FBM.
