can anyone tell me the symptoms of a bad mass air flow sensor and symptoms of a bad instrument cluster

With a bad MAF your car might sputter and stall, your catalytic converter smell like rotten eggs and your tail pipe dispel black exhaust. You unplug it and your car idles fine...plug it back in and your problems return.

Instrument cluster- things on it just don't seem to work right.
