Yes! Super mega rare today, but in the 1990s an occasional spot. I don’t think I’ve seen one for two decades almost. Last one that comes to mind was on I5 in Seattle in 2007.

In the mid '70s International was taking it on the chin in their light truck division, and decided to freshen up the Scout. The SSV -
Supplemental Scout Vehicle - had a fiberglass body and went through a couple phases; one source says there were four design ideas fabricated, and well over ten of the final design were built, plus several bare bodies. The concept was advanced enough that an unknown number were crash tested (!). Management pulled the plug when Corporate decided to concentrate on medium and heavy trucks instead, and put the Scout brand up for sale.
