Will P80 coilovers fit a P2?

Post by v70dom »

Hello, I am wondering if the coilovers off of my buddy’s crashed 99 v70 fwd will fit my fwd 2004 v70? Saving up for some of my own but if i can make these fit that would be great!

I’m pretty sure they changed but I can harvest a bunch of a 2002 today if you need them

I do know apparently a lot of P80 suspension components carried over to the early P2s. I have a 2001 V70 with a very low production VIN number (101xxx) and many of the strut components are actually P80 components, not P2. Not to say that a full assembly is plug n play, I can't confirm that. One of these components is the top strut bearing plate. Mine uses the P80 version but the tail end of '01s and '02s switched to a P2 specific strut bearing therefore I don't believe it will work.

I'm currently refreshing my front suspension and to be honest, once you add the cost of all the miscellaneous components, you might as well go coil overs. You won't spend much more. My front coils were sagging and needed replacement though, so factor that in.

Well, I’m red faced this morning. I thought this thread was on coils over plugs. Just ignore me and move on, I’ll go sit in the corner now.
