93 940 towed behind on a car dolly now drive doesn't engage only reverse and 1 low. this is an automatic

Sounds like the transmission might’ve gotten damaged during the tow. Even though it was in neutral, towing a rear-wheel-drive car like the 940 on a dolly (with rear wheels on the ground) can mess up the transmission if the driveshaft wasn’t disconnected.

The wiki says:

"Engines were fitted with either a 5-speed (M47) or 4-speed+overdrive (M46) manual gearbox or an automatic transmission, either Aisin-Warner AW70/71/72 (3-speed+overdrive) or ZF 4HP22 (4-speed) for some B230FB (or E) and diesel engines. In 1995, the manual gearbox was replaced with a full 5-speed (M90), and the ZF was abandoned for gasoline engines and fitted only on diesels."

Don't know which engine the B230FB or E is.

my engine is a B230F and the VIN decoder says I need the AW71. Before I spend $1K on this used one that I've found online I need to reconfirm that this is in fact what I have in the Volvo. Other sites say that I need the AW70L.
