Unknown sensors

Post by Sveedy »

I found 2 of these hanging down behind the front bumper of the V70. The bumper was repainted at some point, so someone has been up in there. They look suspiciously like what I imagine might be front air bag triggers ?
If so, where do they connect ?

It's an Ambient Temp Sensor. It should plug into a hole in either the black splash or hole near the fog light. My car is parked at a friend's so can't take a look for you. Try to use the part number to see if you can find a Volvo diagram for exact location.

The one hanging on the LHS should have a plug in on the back of the lower grille mesh where the fog light when fitted is found. IT is behind the grille whichever version you have. In the picture below it is in the back of the small black grille beside the LHS foglight.

The RHS one should plug into the side of the air-guide. In the picture below, you can see the hole on the RHS of the central grille in the air-guide

Obviously, if either part is not present, then there is nowhere to plug them into.
