Well, Alldata says remove the left rear speaker grill, then speaker to access the bulb
The red 'pull to release; clip came out, but the speaker isnt coming. Looks like it lifts up to come out?
Any knowledge here?

Got it done. The speaker was stuck in good but eventually snapped out of the frame without breaking anything.
Then a replacement 1157 bulb, don’t forget to do the other side, too
The needed technique was thumb pressure on the curved top tab then a screwdriver to pry the speaker out at the top, breaking a plastic to metal time-bond.
Bulb was in a bayonet, removed with a 1/4 turn ccw, facing rear. Take a picture of the orientation to guide installation , or line up the bayonet lugs looking through the lens outside.

I had to change the 1156 bulb on the left side and YES, the speaker needed some muscle to remove...
FYI: There remains the question of whether the red tab is just pulled out or pulled completely out of the speaker as pictured.
ANYWAY
Beneath this particular bulb is a smaller bulb.
It's the top bulb in the lower section.
How does one access it to change it?
Does one need to remove the tail light from the body?
The instructions in the owner's manual do not address this.

I pull the red tab loose or out and then reach through the metal cutout hole to push the latching hook down. That piece of plastic on the outside of the speaker is almost useless for getting the hook on the other side of the speaker to move. You just have to feel where to push while reaching through the sheet metal hole.

It’s little stuff like this that make Fora invaluable, which is the same as valuable, in the Queens tongue.DavidE7 wrote: ↑09 Jun 2025, 21:11 I pull the red tab loose or out and then reach through the metal cutout hole to push the latching hook down.
