Major work you are going through. Very satisfying though!

Neil.
The work is quite easy I found. The good thing about older cars is that you can reach everything quite easily.

And it’s for sure satisfying to put everything back together and finding out that it works again.

It’s in under this large tube where the two a/c pipes run through the firewall coupling.

Rolled the P2 up to Albany and got rid of old blocks and junk for scrap

Moving engine blocks by yourself is hard but I got it done !

Broke my personal best for my morning Mile run

And got a free concert coming home on the ferry!

What’s that car, foggy?

Looks like a pre-or-just-post war Plymouth. My brother had one in college, the juice in the radiator was exactly the same as the juice in the pan, sort of a thin chocolate milkshake stuff. Drove it all around Houston - a Very Large City - ran fine the whole time I was there. Gone when I got back from the Pacific, replaced by a later Plymouth four door, same indestructible flathead six.

Was at a picknpull today and came across this fuel relay solution.

Anyone ever saw this done before?

How are you supposed to get good parts off of stacked cars?

I like the brick and cement instead of dirt or gravel, but the stacked Volvos hurt to see.

Really nice clean junkyard, no parts lying around.

That fuel pump relay bypass is fine for testing but you really shouldn’t run like that all the time. If the engine quits the relay turns off the pump whereas it will keep running with the wire, of course. A rollover crash would leave the pump dry and running with some fiery results

Unfortunately, because of the age of the Volvos they’re seldomly seen at the picknpulls.

I think they stack all the cars due to lack of space.
There’s a ladder ppl can borrow to get on top, but officially you have to ask for an employee to move the car to level ground.
