95 NA engine swap

Post by fredt2 »

Hello my dudes,
As per previous post, I had a back and forth with my 95 GLT, in which I ultimately decided to replace it's engine. Already found a guy with the exact same engine 20mi from here, only 40k miles on the clock.
So, my question is, is there a way to pull the engine without pulling the tranny together? Anyone already done it? I really don't want to go through the trouble of disassembling the entire front axle to replace the engine

You can get an automatic car engine out the top leaving the transmission in.

You can’t do it with a manual

You need to systematically follow a procedure , not just try to figure it out as you go, for success.

Yes, I will follow the procedure on the Haynes manual, I asked because the procedure on the manual describes the removal with the tranny attached, so i had this doubt if I could pull it apart, apparently I'll just follow the tranny removal procedure separately and just leave it in the car
