Vibration under load - C30 2009 T5

Post by Teeka56 »

We have a vibration under acceleration. Feel it and hear it. Runs fine , no CEL.
Replaced the following:
Both axles ( boots leaking)
All 3 engine mounts - top two were worn
Vibration damper on engine - radial streaks on outer ring
Rotated tires
All belts and tensioners - maintenance items
Inspected exhaust mounts- no problem.

None of these changes made any difference.

C30 -T5 automatic, 101,100 miles.

Any ideas of what else to check?

Have you checked the brakes for binding or warped rotors? Rear brake pads tend to corrode reducing their ability to move in or outward. Just did a rear brake on a C30 and the slider pins were jammed as the caliper hole it fitted through had corroded so badly the pin was jammed in place on the rear brakes.

When was the trans last serviced? Trans fluid has a recommended service life of 50k miles.

Neil- thanks for the reply.
I went back over the suspension and brakes. Looked thru my records and figured out the problem started after I replaced RH axle ( torn boot). I am replacing the IPD axle with a new GKN axle. Fingers crossed.

The GKN axle solved the problem completely! Well worth the $300. Transformed the car.
