Is a used Volvo S60 a reliable car ?

Hello everyone one, so I am a recent graduate and my job requires me to travel alot in my car, I was considering buying a new car but I would rather buy something more enjoyable to drive and stare at.
I just wanna ask how reliable used Volvo s60's are (2019 -2021) I understand they might not be as reliable as a Lexus, but will I be in the shop all the time, or will the car run all right mostly?

Depends on what are your needs in terms of mpg, "spirited" driving vs showing grandma's in buicks how to drive relaxed, space inside of the car.
If reliability is a must: Regular s60 without AWD, without supercharger(so 4cyl turbo T5 engine) would be my suggestion.

Too difficult of a question as cars with those small engines run at the limits of physics and many times at the mercy of the owners care. My suggestion is to look at the some of the potential major problems in those years and decide whether you want to potentially deal with them. There are many car sites such as Edmund, Cars.com and Kelly Blue Book with reviews on those cars besides other Volvo forums with potentially a larger group of late model Volvo owners.

Since those are out of warranty unless you are able to buy one good one from a reputable or Volvo dealership you can potentially expect high maintenance or repair cost. Pay for a Carfax Report when you are serious about a purchase is also recommended.

Short answer: no.

Joking aside, these cars are aging. Although the bodies last forever, they are essentially money pits and any seasoned forum user here will tell you they are enthusiast-only cars and we are all madmen for maintaining them instead of buying new.

EDIT: Just noticed you said 2019-2021... wrong forum, pal. But no- I don't think I've heard much positive feedback regarding those vehicle MY either?

I haven't heard about much problems with S60s of those years. I personally have 2 4cyl T6 xc60s in the family with around 60-70k. Haven't had much of issues with them. Regular maintenance thus far(and it is awd, supercharger, type r platinum versions). It is no Lexus in reliability, but if the car has clen title and good verifiable history of services (carfax or paperwork from independent show that was servicing the car) it should not be a big problem. As with any used car i would encourage everyone to obtain prepurchase inspection by the dealer or independent trusted mechanic

Other signs are low effort and low information initial posts expecting pages of information .
