Maybe. But I haven't had any temp related issues. Temp, fans, thermostat, works fine even had the system flushed when I bought it. The air pump valve is directly related to cold starts that's why I've been leaning towards that. But could be wrong. I saw someone test coil packs by slightly moving them away from the plug. If you can hear strong zapping still it's good if you move it away and it's barely making any sound could be dying. Just seems unlikely if it's giving issues at idle that a coil pack would run any better while going 70+mph

The ECT is $35 and it causes all kinds of weird start-up issues. Try replacing it, since it seems like you've already been firing the parts cannon.
