oh yeh I know that song, I did my first timing belt a day before a 1000 mile trip , my buddy screwed up the timing...completely.
We found a shop , they agreed to time the crank properly and reassemble everything, they did it the same day, cost me $550 but I was very happy. Besides a radiator job in the middle of february in northern Maine I've done all my own repairs these past 8 years.

Sir, I share your sentiment that it is very sour pills to swallow. We all here made mistakes that costed us time, money, energy, ego...Look on the bright side-you have your car back. You gained tremendous amount of experience doing this job. You found us-crazy fanatics. You will likely start to watch ton of "volvo car repair porn" on YouTube and will be a master tech in no time. Think about it as education for which you had to pay. Good luck.jotoya wrote: 29 Jul 2025, 14:39 Many thanks Vova. I am grateful indeed the car is running to be sure. Thank you for your thoughts and good breakdown.

Many thanks brother. There was a lot more to the story than my perceived "complaining" but I'm out. Again, I do appreciate your replies.Vova585 wrote: 29 Jul 2025, 21:19Sir, I share your sentiment that it is very sour pills to swallow.
