I was driving back from a far-away trip from home, when I started the car and had a check engine light. I took it to the nearest auto shop and had them run the codes for free, as I drove there, my speedometer and odometer turned on and off. The code I pulled from the car was P0600. At the same time, my brake light (on the dash) was turning on and off, I checked the brake fluid reservoir and it was slightly above the min level, so I bought brake fluid and put some extra in to try and solve that problem, (It did not).
As I had a long drive home, I thought I would just take it slow and ride back easy, just to get the car home. Big mistake. Driving home the transmission started not knowing when to shift, I know these Aisin 5-speed automatics are notorious for not being the best out there. Things continued to get worse. At stop lights when I would accelerate from a stop, the car would get stuck in first gear at 2k RPM, until it got to above ~35 MPH. After doing multiple accelerations like that, at one stop light accelerating at only about ~15 MPH, the transmission jerked the whole car and shifted very roughly, in which the transmission light came on (on the dash). I only had 10 more minutes to drive home.
So at home I read the new codes, which resulted in three new codes: P0722, P0717, and P0785.
I really don't know what to do, and I am not knowledgeable in vehicle computers or electronics to even begin and diagnose this. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Some important background:
Pictures attached:I have owned this Volvo since 2022, when I bought it; it had 66k Miles on it. I had a transmission issue only after a few months of ownership, in which the transmission was stuck in gears and would shift very loosely, I did a fluid flush of the transmission and that seemed to fix it, (the fluid was black), but ever since then when it downshifts into first gear as I come to a stop, the trans rumbles the whole car, so something was definitely permanently damaged. I also have the ABS control module disconnected, and have for about a year and a half, as the module failed and wouldn't let the car drive because it would brake the car all the time. I'm not sure if any of this is relevant. But there definitely is something going on with the trans.
