Quick wipe down and vacuum of the interior. Not as bad as I thought although from the seat fabric it looks like the po owned a pet raccoon, or one made it its home when it was in the field

That list is looking solid for the most part. I’m wary of that aftermarket unbranded VVT hub seal.

Also, you’re going to want the big crossover pipe for the PCV, and many crush washers for the banjo bolt (2 you actually need, and an extra few for the ones you inevitably drop haha). The vacuum hose on it always snaps upon removal no matter how gentle you are, and they clog up with junk over time. You can replace that big crossover with the Vast catch can instead if you desire

Looks fantastic! Cleaned up nice given how long it was sitting.

Gates makes the Genuine crossover and is well over $100 cheaper for effectively the exact same part, so here’s the Gates numbers. You can get them on RockAuto for $140-160 depending on variant. Feel free to choose whichever variant you want - they’re all compatible with each other, but the late version flows better than the earlier ones.

EMH074 (early)
EMH075 (mid)
EMH078 (late)

As an alternative, you can delete the coolant crossover pipe, block off the coolant ports, and install the Vast catch can, which flows much better than any factory crossover and allows you to get rid of the coolant section, allow for far easier intake manifold removal in the future, and delete the PTC element.

What FCP calls the firewall heater hose junction for some reason. I was confused by that as well, until I punched the PN into FCP

Didn't get much done today, I peeled the auto zone cover off the steering wheel, was a bit of a chore as it was baked onto it pretty well. Surprisingly wasn't damaged underneath. Washed it really well and I guess I will see if it gets sticky.

I ran the codes as well and it came back with a P0751 andP0733 for the trans and of course 02 sensors since there are not any. I cleared the codes and fired it up and driveway tested it, the trans codes didn't pop back on but not sure how long you have to drive it for them to pop if there is an issue. When I originally started the car it had the console and ob2 port disconnected and removed, not sure if that will throw any codes with the trans or not.

Tested the heated seats and the ac, both work. The ac was a huge surprise

Working AC required in MO!

Think about putting a wood interior into that, rob. The charcoal leather really looks nice warmed up…even better with a 5 speed swizzle stick and four pedals

TY. I actually prefer the current trim to wood, wood looks good in estate wagons and fancier trims imho but sportier ones it looks a bit out of place to my eye

Nice! Working AC is shocking given how common AC issues are on these. Of the 4 I’ve owned, not one has had working AC when I bought it.

At least one of those trans codes usually comes back immediately. Drive it for a bit and see what happens, but it’s pretty likely you’re in the clear. The 4 speed in these is super robust.

I have both sets of trim (green ‘98 has walnut in a tan interior, blue ‘98 has R metal mesh w/ the R black leather/suede), and wouldn’t change either. The metal w/ black is definitely better for a sportier feel. The wood is classier, especially w/ tan.

Gotta find a set of Karelian Birch or Black Marble if you want something super cool/rare that stands out.

I think I have a set of the metal mesh from my 1999 off if one you cool sport kids would like it. Free to a good home.
