Prancedaround town in Evita the S70 while I finish replacing my shifter cables on my Beetle. Still all proud of blessed cool AC resurrection which is needed in our 90-100 F humid heatwave.

Fixed the coolant level sensor from the UBG stock and found the funny fan noise, a wire plug had worked its way into touching the fan blades. New zip tie needed. No damage

Butchered the back thermostat T45 on Tosh , the 1998 s70 GLT.

Sigh. Looks like PS and alternator have to come out to get that sucker off.maybe a fluted extractor will work.

The 1999s give much better access.

Did coolant and oil change , and upper rad hose. Slight seep on radiator so will have to watch that

I always see the receiver/dryer and think how crappy the paint and steel must be with how rusty they are, and then remember it's a part at the front of a car that's 25-30 years old and its just amazing that it's still there.

Did you try striking the edge of the bolt with a chisel or punch? Like you would do with a shear head bolt? Worth a shot at least!

Hello everyone! It's been awhile but I've something quite cool to share with you guys! The second of July, the biggest and very well-known car magazine of western Europe, AutoWeek, interviewed me and made a video about my S70. The videos/interviews are called "klokje rond", which we call it in Dutch when a car made a lot of mileage. As far as I know, you can watch the video with English subtitles. As for the results of the check done by Tim (the mechanic who did the inspection) I'm very pleased. I'll be changing out the radiator and heat exchanger soon. The Volvo dealer is going to look at the ecc ticking in about two weeks and thats long enough, the ticking/rattling of the ecc is driving me nuts during long trips.

Here's the link to the YouTube video:

I also added some pictures of the entire interview in the magazine, but those are in Dutch (but nowadays easily translated).

Enjoy the video! I'm curious to your reactions!
