Come to think of it the only nice thing you said was the seat were comfortable. He's got seats already.

Sudden high pressure event - pretty sure the head blew and dumped combustion gases into the coolant, and the high pressure is what caused the radiator hose to pop and dump coolant. Yes, I could pull the head and put a new gasket in, but the damage probably goes beyond that. At this point, as much as it pains me to say it, I think it’s too much to try and get it running again.
Ok abscate, tell me more. I’ve got a LKQ across town.

Digging this much into an engine is new territory for me. Conceptually, I understand, but in practical terms, I’ve never ventured this far. I doubt my SWMBO will go for this car sitting in our driveway, because I honestly won’t be able to touch it for months….but I’m game.
What am I getting into if I go down this path? In one of your previous responses you said, “ That’s 4 hours to get the head off, rework at shop for $500 or less, 4 hours back on.” What kind of “rework at shop” are you talking about?
Goodnight Elizabeth,

One of the ways to get SWMBO on Board is say “ well, I’m not this guy….”Jonboy74 wrote: ↑23 Aug 2025, 20:57Ok abscate, tell me more. I’ve got a LKQ across town.

At 360k miles , you definitely want new valve stem seals to protect this valves from oil deposits, carbon, then burnt valve
