I can't help but notice the beautiful Ford Capri MK3 in the background of the first photo. :)

I got my new tires mounted. Funny you save money at Tire Rack, then your friendly local shop charges you $45/wheel to mount & balance, because you didn’t buy their junky tires.

We had a great place 3 blocks away, Gary’s Conoco, it was there forever. He had the same balancing machines. Taught me that the tire chains never wire brush the beads and you sometimes get bead leaks.

He retired, his son couldn’t hire mechanics to keep up, they called it quits. Sold off the tools, tore it down, dug it up for EPA tank cleanup. It’ll be apartments soon.

I’m noting that all my airplane propellers spin the same direction. No left-right wheel protocol.

Those were very rare... I used to know of a model that did that side/side unidirectional split... I think Car and Driver once did a short writeup about that.

Are those Perfos or Columbas?


Firefox has the only set of chiral Columbas I’ve seen.

If the wheels are all fluted the same way, does it make the car constantly turn one way?
