It was not a fun job for sure. Doing that on an AWD in a junkyard is even tougher. I got removing the rear subframe down to about 2.5 hours at one point in the junkyard. I could be a little less careful with the bolts as probably 50% would snap the heads off. I still have another spare used subframe hanging in the garage, just in case. We decided (well my wife did) that the car is now here summer car so it now does not see any salty roads for anywhere from 5-7 months a year!

Didn't have a lot of time but did get the rear hatch area stripped, cleaned and third seat reinstalled. I am going to wait to steam clean the hatch carpet when I can pull the rest of the interior out of the car and do the main cabin carpet. Hopefully I will have time to do it tomorrow but I am not sure I will be able to squeeze it in. Wish me luck

Brother I am so sorry, I just saw this post. How long are your extensions? The one I ordered I had to extend the wires an additional 6 inches and it was still a bit of a stretch. Depending on length I would still buy one from you. Sorry I missed your post!

Did your car come with the 7 seat conversion or did you add it? I bought the whole lot from a junkyard, but ended up selling it on as I didn't really need it as the kids were too big to use it. Hardest part to get was the latch for the lever into the backrest on the rear seat. Even back then they were NLA from Volvo.

It did not come with it, my 2000 r parts car did so I figured I would swap it all over into it, not that it will ever be used but it is just another cool little features these cars could be ordered with to me

Almost done with prepping the front bumper. The horrible respray on this thing made prep a pita. Down to hand sanding where the sander will not fit and going to reinforce the repair area.

What is left of the 2000R parts car that I kept. The interior was pretty zapped in that thing and it was pretty far gone. I wanted it for the 6 speed swap someone had done on it in the past. A lot of the other parts I am going to blast and recondition for spares on my other cars and will tidy them up over time. The engine has a spun bearing (or so I was told) so I am just going to strip it for parts and trash the rest.

Got the seats and carpet out today. From foam under carpet is zapped so I will need to replace it. I cut all the moldy parts out + a few inches. I will add some closed foam and kill mat under the carpet to make up the space. Got the metal all cleaned and killed the mold spores, went overboard and doused the entire metal with the neutralizer and scrubbed it enough that I wound up taking paint off. While the seats are out I am going to just recover them and bring them back as best I can. Carpet came pretty clean, at least from where it started. Once the new foam is down under it and the floor mats are in I think it will look fine. A ton of work to be sure

Had a lot of work on the property this weekend so had limited time to work on the 99. Bumper is repaired and in primer. Started laying the sound deadener in the cabin and replacing the foam that was ruined by the water. I couldn't get formed foam and there was no way I was going to sit and try to carve and form it myself so I cut the closed cell foam into block where it would fit the contours then use 1/8" closed cell foam with an adhesive backing to hold it altogether and not slide around, even though it is fairly tight packed. Should work, we will see. Have a lot left to do but got the first piece of carpet in which felt good. Shot of the ammo can that is my current seat to pull it in and out of the shop until I can get the seats mounted back in.

If my day goes as planned tomorrow I should have the full interior back in the car, fingers crossed
