1993 Volvo 850 air intake hose too tight.

Should the air intake take hose slide smoothly on to the throttle body or do you have to really work to get it on?

You have to work to get it on. They are tight. Try a little silicon oil. If you can dump the hose end in warm water to soften it it might help.
