Airbag change from -98 to 99

The change from DC current wiring to AC makes the harness change. The end plugs on 99 will have capacitors and 98 will not. The bags and belts don't care but if you have the harness from 99 and airbag control unit original to the car that is a problem as the capacitors in end plugs for airbag will make a DC current control unit think there is an open circuit.

So I found a set of front seats from a '98. I know that the air bag system changed, so what parts are interchangeable with a '99 ?
Can the basic parts just be switched, or is it only the skins ?

“No. 1999 is the CAN intro year and TCU also gets security matching starting that year. No plug n play. 97 850 LPT and 98 LPT have interchangeable TCUs but 97 HPT are M4.3 with 98 HPT becoming M4.4. I remember a pin differs between those two and the 98 HPT will have a transmission error with 97 and down HPT TCU in it.”
