A trip to Harbor Fright for a welder might come sooner rather than later.

I did see something like this which would work a lot better if/when I can weld it on

Pick a dual voltage one. I've got a 110 v and it trips my breaker when welding thicker metal. Plasma cutter trips it in seconds. I was so annoyed that found another phase in garage and made a 240 v outlet. Now need to upgrade my welders (ARC and MIG).

That other flanges pair looks like a proper fix to me.

Need a better helmet? This one is freakin' awesome, I can see everything now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076H4MWDS
I only paid $300 for the machine, can't justify that much for very occasional use.

I paid around that sum, too. Heck, my stick welder was under $100, and I still use it for bigger stuff, like log splitter. Helmet is so far the most important part in welding. It protects you, it lets you see what you're doing. I have two cheaper helmets, got tired of seeing nothing or getting flash burns. Think about it.

yikes, don't do it, their mig is way over priced.
Buyers like to say "I can always take it back", not so fast, theres a 18% restock fee. Only 90 day warranty, No stick gun, no alum spoolgun.

Primeweld 180 is the same price and comes with the spoolgun to mig alum and a stick gun for arc welding, dual voltage and stellar reputation for warranty and customer service, when they upgraded their machine they sent out free motherboards.

Thats the way to go, having a welder opens up better options.
