92 240 Oxygen Sensor

92 240 Oxygen Sensor

I was reading the codes for my 92 240 which turns out to be the oxygen sensor missing or faulty. When I followed the wire up to the plug at the firewall it came unplugged as I held it. It appears the male end was not fully insert.

Does the male connector slip past the metal clip, or do I need to pull the metal clip out a little in order to set the male plug?
