1999 Volvo V70 GLT 151,000 miles
I just utilized XEMODEX for their repair service where you send in your own ETM. I installed everything correctly and go to turn the key and, I get super high revs. Like aggressive high revs. Has anyone else ever has this experience with their repaired ETM from XEMODEX? I have used their service before for my non-turbo and everything went smoothly. I am stumped.

Have you got an air leak at the ETM to manifold letting air in or left any other lines or connections off in error? It is possible it could be faulty, but if it is, you are really unlucky. Maybe call them and ask for advice.

Check your vacuum lines. especially the one going under your manifold from the drivers side, up through the middle and connecting on top of the manifold. Underneath the manifold that line gets old and collapses. I had this very issue and High revs was one of the symptoms. The line was fine on top and over where it connects with other lines, however under the manifold it was literally falling apart and crumbling. as soon as i replaced it, boom problem gone.
if possible do a smoke test to find bad vac lines.

I spoke with someone at a reputable local Volvo shop and they did mention great things about XeModex but problems do happen, specifically in relation to programming. She's going under the knife on the 13th, wish me luck

I had an Xemodex ETM fail after a couple years. They replaced it no charge. I am very satisfied.

Xemodex used to have a lifetime warranty as long as you owned the car. It was not transferable t a new owner.
Look at ericmci post right by this one. He had issues with the 'new' Volvo part number ETM to manifold gasket causing him a real issue.
