It is much easier to undo the steering coupling inside the car, under the dash. Mark it up for reference and also tie off the wheel so someone doesnt spin it, and ruin your clockspring wire.

Warning - those steering couplers are NLA and there is no aftermarket, so be nice to it.

Ooop - forgot I was in the P2 forum. P80 couplers are not available - I think P2 still are, and there are loads of junkyard P2s, regardless

So far , the steering coupler in the cabin is undone, the key is out and steering wheel is locked.
The wheels are off , its on the lift but I can't locate the rear engine mount bolt.
I just went out and turned on an elec heater, its 34F .
All the videos I see are volvo's without awd,
do I need to remove the angle gear or pull the cat converter out to gain some room?

It is hidden up in the subframe but you dont need to move anything in my experience. I can take a picture tomorrow perhaps

MAKE SURE you get the socket well on that bolt , though, you dont want to strip it. It is tight, and it will round off if you arent on well. Prying down and wedging the sway bar IS REQUIRED to get a socket on firm and square in my experience.

I can also image P.O. decided to skip the bolt when he was replacing that pad.

Ok I went out with a penlight, now I can see the motor mount bolt,.
I'm looking at the weather, snowing again this morning, its in the 20's every nite and mid 30's in the daytime so I'll have to bail until spring, I only have food here for a couple of days and I have a pellet stove to get installed.
I'll make a closed loop for the steering pump from the existing hose.
did you ever reinstall a wheel and forget the wheel well liner ? me neither.
