Vcm /v90/gps

Post by Samer »

! I have a Volvo V90, 2019 and I hope someone can help me with my problem.
My car’s VCM panel keeps acting up – it shows the wrong GPS location and no Wi-Fi signal. If I disconnect the battery and reconnect it, the maps work again for a while, but then the same problem comes back. I talked to the company and they said the VCM panel is probably the cause.

I have now managed to get another panel with the same number and model from another user.
My question is: does it need to be reprogrammed to work with my car, or can I just replace it directly?
And is there any workshop that can erase the old information and copy it to the new VCM panel?

I’d be very grateful for any tips and experiences! 🙏

Hey Samer.

Unfortunately, everything on these need to be reprogrammed (Volvo around here keeps calling it "upgrading" :D ) when replaced. Even just replacing the VCM battery needs a trip to the dealer.
Well, at least the electronically connected stuff. You can replace the VCM yourself (it's just a box with quite a few connectors), but Volvo has to program it to the car - shouldn't be crazy expensive.
