Thought I just lump them all in this post. Can the seat covers (only) for 12 XC90, 09 S80 & 02 V70XC be removed without seat removal. Consider doing this at the wrecking yard when available.

Yes, Ive done it with vehicles in the auto wreckers. I assume you're talking about seat skins? You'll need a sturdy pair of side cutters to cut the hog rings, also a long thin pick to get into the hog rings alongside the console to remove them. Also search the video of how to remove Volvo headrests before you go, these can be a bit tricky.

Thanks. Yes, just the leather skin for the seat and not back or headrest. I made the mistake of removing the rear cloth seat cushion cover on the 2007 S60 2.5T for a thorough cleaning. There were millions of hog rings to cut. No backseat since Feb . Will look up some vids before going to the yard.

With a long skinny screwdriver or pick you can usually open the hog rings and discard them where they fall. I reskinned the seats on my '03 both seats and seatbacks and used the small zipties with good results instead of hog-rings.

Buy long zip ties on this job. You only need 3 or 4 inches of zip tie but it is much easier to let the zip tie pull the material than your other third and fourth hands. Maybe an 8 inch or so ?
