S70 to 850 hood swap, how insane?

Post by aeg »

So I know you can't put C70 jewel headlights in an 850 because the hood is shaped differently. But suppose you swapped in a hood from an S70. You would also need to change the radiator support and the hood latch. Is that all, or would you also have to put on S70 fenders and bumper?

AEG,

The front end of the 850 is a different design than the '98-00 S70s, meaning the hood, fenders, bumper cover, header panel, headlight assemblies, and corner lights are all different. The hood and fenders are not compatible due to differences in design and mounting points. A full front-end conversion from an 850 to an S70 is possible by replacing the hood, fenders, header panel, headlights, bumper, and corner lights simultaneously. The front clips and hinge systems also differ between the 850 and S70, which prevents a simple hood swap.
